Password Protection for PDF document
To secure your PDF document, it is suggested to set a user password and an owner password. The creator of the PDF document owns the owner password. The user password is intended for those who open and view PDF files.
For example, if you create a PDF document with a user password and an owner password, and distribute it to your readers. For security reason, you tell your readers the password either by phone or by email. As soon as the readers open your PDF document, they are prompted to enter the user password before they could read the PDF document.
If you would like to modify your PDF document, you are asked to enter your owner password before you make any changes to the PDF document. To edit PDF document, you are requested to enter the owner password.
Your PDF document is encrypted after you apply either user password or owner password.
